Flying to Chania
Most people who come to the conference will fly in to Chania International Airport Ioannis Daskalogiannis (IATA code: CHQ) north-east of the city. The airport is named after Daskalogiannis, a local hero of the 18th century.
The conference venue is a taxi ride of about 20 minutes from the airport (cost about 15-20 Euros).

There are several flights a day from Athens to Chania, provided by Aegean Airlines and Olympic Airlines. Athens is, of course, an international hub that can be reached from a large number of cities around the world.
Ryanair operates flights conecting Chania to over 20 European and Domestic cities.
During the holiday season, from April to early November, there are many direct charter flights to Chania from the UK, Germany, Scandinavia and other European countries. For example, operating out of the UK, Monarch or Thomson but you may need to stay for a week to get the best rates.

There are frequent buses which can take you from the airport to the center of Chania at a cost of a few Euro operated by the KTEL bus company.
Buses are coordinated with the arrival of flights and the journey to Chania Central Bus Station takes about 20-30 minutes. Otherwise you can take a local taxi at approx. 18-25 euros or book an airport transfer in advance.
Flying to Heraklion
There is a second international airport on Crete, on the other side of the island, Heraklion International Airport (HER). This is about two hours drive from Chania.

KTEL bus company
operates a regular public bus service between Chania and Heraklion, the journey taking about two hours, but offering a way of seeing something of the island.
